For the month of August, the Boot Boogie Babes have a chance to take a quick break from performing. A lot of us will be going on vacation in the next couple of weeks, but we do have fun performances planned for the fall so make sure you are following us on Facebook:

Today we continue with our Meet the Babes series. I'm proud to introduce you to the Lieutenant of the Boot Boogie Babes, and she is fondly known to us as "Coach".
Meet Leslie aka. Coach!
Before we find out more about Leslie, I always like to say a few words about my girls. First off, Leslie has been such an amazing help to me as the Lt. for our team. She made sure our first try outs went off without a hitch, and she's always there to help me pick up the slack if my brain is scattered which honestly happens a lot! But the best thing about Leslie, aside from her amazing dance legs, is her incredible ability to never forget a dance. She's like the Fort Knox of line dances. Leslie will lock those steps up like a vault and can retrieve them at any time. Without her, our team would not be where we are today.

My birthday... it's not a holiday but it should be!

When someone shows you who they are believe them the first time.

My legs... I have played volleyball for 12+ years, and have worked really hard to keep them fit and strong.
9) Do you watch sports? If so, which ones?
Volleyball and softball... I watch football sometimes, oh and I like basketball too. I will go to any sporting event!
10) Give us three adjectives that your friends would use to describe you.
Funny, athletic, and loud!
11) If you could go back in time to any year or date, where would you go and why?
60's or the 80's... I love a lot of music from those times.
12) Favorite pair of cowboy boots?
I love all my boots, but my favorites are my Turquoise Lucchesse boots!!
13) Favorite line dance?
I love them all, but the ones that are the fastest and most challenging are the best!
14) Favorite concert you’ve ever been to!
Earth, Wind, and Fire at the Hollywood Bowl! Last September I took my mom for her 50th birthday!
Share with us how you got into line dancing...
I have always liked dancing and liked all kinds of music. So when my cousin started to go out line dancing she told me to come out one time and hang out, so I did. I didn't even own a pair of boots. I went the first time, and I was hooked! It looked so much fun! The next week I got a pair of cheap boots and went back. DeAnna Lee taught the cha cha that night, and it was the first line dance I ever learned. Dancing releases so much stress and is such a good workout. I have made so many friends and have had so many great memories thanks to line dancing.
DeAnna Lee is a dirt road girl from Arkansas and a country radio personality that lives in Seattle. You can hear her on Seattle's KMPS and Idaho Falls KUPI. She loves cowboy boots, country music, line dancing, and cooking adventures. DeAnna is also the coach and choreographer of Seattle's Line Dance Team, the Boot Boogie Babes and the proud owner of the cutest lil' French Bulldog ever...Miss Dixie Bell.

Meet The Babes- Behind The Scenes Look at Lacey
Our behind the scenes look at the Boot Boogie Babes continues this week. We are about to get a closer look at Lacey! But first I want to remind you about our performance THIS Sunday at Seattle Pro-Am Basketball games!
We were rehearsing a few months ago when the Operations Manager of Seattle Pro-Am saw us and asked if we would consider performing at their games this summer! The Babes got so excited!
So THIS Sunday at the 2:30 pm & 4 pm games The Boot Boogie Babes will be the half time entertainment! It's on $5 per person! Basketball & Babes at SPU!

I really love choreographing dances and teaching them to Lacey, because she's like a sponge. She just soaks it all up and always dances with so much passion. It's dancers like Lacey that inspire me to push myself to create more, because Lacey can dance anything! I know she has an extensive background in dance and performing, and B3 is so lucky to have her on this team.

1) Name 5 things you can’t live without.
Only 5? There are so many things that I could choose from but I guess if I have to choose my family/friends, my little dog jewels, phone, nail polish and SHOES!!! I love shoes!!
2) What’s your favorite song to belt out in the car?
Again another one with so many answers. Right now I am diggin" an older song called "The Kill" by 30 Seconds to Mars and of course "Bad Girl" by Miranda and Carrie!!!
3) Tell us your favorite thing to do when you’re NOT dancing.
Shopping!! lol For real I love spending time with my family and friends.
4) Who is your favorite country artist?
Love me some Sugarland and Love and Theft. All time favorite has to be Garth Brooks.
5)What chore do you absolutely HATE doing?
I really don't like doing the dishes, but the worst is cleaning the bathroom!!
6) What’s your favorite holiday and why?
Any holiday I get to spend time with my family! My favorite is Christmas. I love seeing people's faces when they open gifts from me it gives me such a thrill to see the excitement and joy on there faces!
7) Give us advice or motto that you live by.
My all time favorite mottos come from the late and great Maya Angelou quotes and here are some of my favs!!
" If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude"!
" I have learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel".
8) What’s your favorite body part?
I love my eyes which by the way change colors!! (just a fun fact about me) But on a guy it has to be a pair of nice looking, strong arms! ;-)
9) Do you watch sports? If so, which ones?
I will go to any sporting event, and I love football! I will watch it anytime any where!! Go HAWKS!!
10) Give us three adjectives that your friends would use to describe you.
I guess they would say DETERMANED/STUBBURN which could be two but I say they go together. I like being right and wont stop till I get what I want. Once I set my mind on something I won't stop till I get it! Probably LOYAL because I will always have their backs. They would say I am loud or have a big mouth. If you knew my family would understand I pretty sure its hereditary! hahaha
11) If you could go back in time to any year or date, where would you go and why?
If I had to choose specific years it would be the 1900s! Which is the time period that some of my favorite musicals are based. ( Meet Me in St. Louis and Oklahoma)! I like different things than most people my age. I spent a lot of time with my great grandma and she got me in to musicals. I love during that time period that everyone was so put together and well mannered. The men would always be in suits and women were in long hand made dresses. Everything during this time was just beautiful.
12) Favorite pair of cowboy boots?
Any boots are my favorite cause like I said before I LOVE shoes!! Corrals are my most favorite brand!
13) Favorite line dance?
I am like a dance called force right now and really all of the Boot Boogie Babes dances! I try to get out on the dance floor whenever there is a dance I know.
14) Favorite concert you’ve ever been to!
N'sync, Carrie Underwood (with my bestie Be'Tina), Usher (with Jamie and Be'Tina), and Taylor swift puts on an awesome concert. Best concert I have been to has to be Backstreet Boys and best memory from that concert was that Be'Tina and I decorated my moms car with shoe polish and when I say decorate I mean the WHOLE car!! bumper to bumper hehehe
15) You have the tattoo “Let Us Dance” on your shoulder. What does that mean to you?
FOR THOSE WITHOUT THE TATTOO…
This tattoo connects three best friends and the thing they love to do! But to me its more than that. It means to never stop something that you love regardless of what others say. I know there are always gonna be haters out there, but every time I look at this tattoo it reminds me to never stop not for anyone!! And the girls that have the same tattoo are more then just friends or even best friends, they are part on my family. We may have our ups and downs which all friends and family do, but looking in the mirror and seeing this tattoo tells me we will always make it back to each other! I love them more then I can put in to words!
Why do you dance?
I dance because it make me happy, and its a great way to work out with out actually working out!! lol I have always been a dancer from a very young age. Thanks to my mom who put me in every kind of dance class she could. I love her for this because dancing will always be apart of me and that's because of her. I love you MOM!! I have done so many types of dance from ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, irish step, ballroom and even cheer ( for my high school and with a group called Jr. Sea gals) and quite a few more. What can I say I love it!!! <3
Share with us how you got into line dancing...
I started line dancing about 2 1/2 years now and it is all thanks to a coworker I used to work with her name was Amber! ( I will always be thankful to her for taking me to Jacks) After that first day I was hooked and never turned back. Went out and got my self some boots and have been stomping them ever since. Friday nights became Bourbon Jacks night! And I have brought people with me on this country journey. Practicing at work, home and even in the car! lol Ok maybe not quite in the car, but I would visualize that dance and the steps over and over again in my head. Even to this day I dance at work! My co workers and boss look at me like I'm a crazy person, but you cant stop something you love, sometimes I don't even realize that I'm dancing at work.
I have to give a big shout out Miss DeAnna Lee for all her lessons on Friday nights. Without her awesome choreography that has kept me going and wanting more I don't know where I would be. I love line dance and country music.. B3 for life!! Cant wait to see what is in store for our team, the sky the limit all we can go is up....

You can see the Boot Boogie Babes perform this Friday at Kent Cornucopia Days 6 - 6:30 pm on the Gazebo Stage. The Gazebo Stage is located in the Burlington Green Park at West Meeker and Railroad Ave. North.
Now it's time to get to know our sweet lil' Jamie! I simply love this girl! She's a no drama, steady as a rock, always bringing a smile to every thing we do kinda gal! Those who don't know her might not realize that she's very reserved and some would perhaps describe her as shy, but all of that fades away when she puts her boots down on the dance floor! Her smile beams, and you can see that dance is her release. Jamie has said to me that if she's had a tough week at work, dancing always makes her feel better.
So let's find out a little more about our adorbs Jamie!

when you’re NOT dancing?
Favorite thing to do when not dancing is relaxing at
home with a good movie or TV show on.
4) Who is your favorite country artist?
Favorite country artists would be Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton. They are
the cutest couple ever and amazing artists. If I wanted to become a singer they
would be my idols.
5) What chore do you absolutely HATE
doing?
I absolutely HATE doing laundry. Washing them is easy it’s the putting
them away part I can’t stand to do.
6) What’s your favorite holiday and why?
My favorite holiday would be Thanksgiving- I am thankful for the family I get
to spend t it with AND all the wonderful food I get to eat. ;) Skinny
girl…fatty at heart.
7) Give us advice or motto that you live
by.
The best happiness in life is to follow your heart and do what makes you
happy. “Jake told me this when we first met- I knew he was a keeper”

Favorite body part would be “eyes” Nothing sexier on a man is blue or green
eyes!

I don’t watch sports. I have no idea what’s going on when they are on. I
will go to a football, baseball, basketball game have an awesome time but not
know what happened in the game at all!!

If I could go
back it would be the 1950’s—I love the pin up modern style the women had back

My favorite concert was Jason Aldean- I wasn’t off my feet once, he really

together is a symbol of 3 best friends doing what they love to do
together forever and always no matter what happens in life. We will always dance to infinity and beyond. “dance always and forever”
Share with us how you got into line dancing...
I have always been one of those girls in her bedroom dancing to my music
with or without my friends there with me. We all did it right?!
I have always loved to dance
but didn’t get onto a team until the end of my freshmen year of high school. I was a cheerleader at Tyee High School
for 4 years; I had a blast with these ladies.
After my High School cheerleading days I didn’t dance much and I missed
it like crazy!!!
I remember my first night at a country bar like it was yesterday. My good
friend Cynthia pulled me to Big Whiskey Olympia, I had no choice she wasn’t
taking NO for an answer. I never listened to country music I was ALWAYS a hip
hop booty shaking girl. From this night forward I said good bye to hip hop and
turned country.
I started practicing in the garage twice a week before I went back to the
bar again; I needed to know more dances. You can say I was addicted!
Dancing has truly made me a happier person, I have made new friends and
found friends that were once lost and will never be taking away from me again
(my Miss Be’Tina).
Now I have all my boot
boogie babes I love you guys very much and can’t wait to continue dancing with
you ladies. I am excited to see what the future holds for our team!! “Always and forever my country
sisters”.

I keep getting asked, "who are these ladies on your Boot Boogie Babes dance team"? They are so cute and such great dancers, and we'd love to know more about them. So, I'm going to be featuring each member over the course of the next few weeks on my blog, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram!
The Babes just finished performing at the Fremont Solstice Parade and at Seattle Pride Fest. We are super excited to announce that our latest dance "Bad Girl" to Miranda Lambert & Carrie Underwood's song has gone viral on Youtube!! As of right now it has over 12,000 views! Have you seen it? Be'Tina is the Babe in yellow!
Without further ado, allow me to introduce Miss Be'Tina aka. Flashdance!
I call her Bopsie Bee, because she bops all over that dance floor! You can't keep your eyes off her! She makes everyone stand up and take notice, and you can see the joy bursting out of her heart through her smile when she's on that dance floor. You know this girl loves every stomp she makes with her cowboy boots!

1) Name 5 things you can’t live without!
A can of hair spray, mascara,skittles, coke, and my jeep
2) What’s your favorite song to belt out in the car?
Of course you can't go wrong with spice girls or backstreet
boys, but the one that gets me to crack the window even in
the rain is "I don't wanna miss a thing." -aerosmith!!
3) Tell us your favorite thing to do when you’re NOT dancing?
Eating of course ... No but really I love to bartend! There's
something about the adrenaline and fast pace environment
drives me. Plus girl bartenders are bad ass!
4) Who is your favorite country artist?
Carrie Underwood ... ever since American Idol and my $113
phone bill for voting so many times! Ooops! Sorry Mom!
5) What chore do you absolutely HATE doing?
Dishes! They absolutely repulse me! I'd rather scrub a floor
with a tooth brush for hours. Ick!
6) What’s your favorite holiday and why?
I love winter and Christmas is probably really high up
there.... But there's something about beer and and fireworks!
I absolutely love the 4th of July. Maybe there is a little pyro
in me! ;) ..shhhh!
7) Give us advice or motto that you live by.
Oh gosh sooooo many... Motto.
"Imperfection is Beauty, Madness is genius and it's better to
be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring".
and my other favorite is, "A girl knows her limits, but a wise
one knows she has none".
8) What’s your favorite body part?
My long legs for sure ... my hazel eyes run a close second
9) Do you watch sports? If so, which ones?
Yes! I Love football! Go Hawks! Baseball in person more so
than on TV, but I'm not really a fan of basketball.
10) Give us three adjectives that your friends would use to
describe you.
HAHA... They would probably tell you I'm independent,
stubborn, and very outgoing. I usually get the, "tell Be'Tina!
She will do it", and maybe they'd say I'm hilarious. Not funny
HA HA, but more of the Neopolian Dynamite kind of hilarity.
11) If you could go back in time to any year or date, where
would you go and why?
The 40's! So I can rock red lip stick and pearls! Not to
mention they're dancing style back then!
12) Favorite pair of cowboy boots?
My grey with black sequence corrals of course!
13) Favorite line dance?
Is this a real question? Can i say all of them?... hmm I really
am digging "Walking to Jerusalem" and "The Force" right
now, but "Fake ID" is a dance I would do with a broken foot!
14) Favorite concert you’ve ever been to!
Other than the fabulous Carrie.. Def Leppard and Poision did
a show together! #amazing

What does that mean to you?
This kinda hits home for me! I got to know Jamie, another
Babe on the team in 2008, and we hit it off great. Lacey who
is another Babe and I grew up together. We were destined to
be best friends after finally meeting in junior high.
Over the year relationships fade or unexpected things happen
and you don't stay close.
Needless to say Lacey wasn't in my life really when I got close
to Jamie, and Jamie wasn't in my life when I knew Lacey. I
ended up loosing touch with both of them, and I went down
my own path of becoming an adult.
One Friday Lacey contacts me and says I wan't to take you to a
country bar. I was NOT into country music!
BUT, I went and had a blast!
Learning new line dances and trying to get out there every
chance I could was so much fun, and so this became a regular
Friday thing with me and Lacey. It truly helped reconnect our
childhood friendship.
One Friday I saw Jamie there too! We had not talked in a
while, and I'm not even sure if were were "friendly" at the
time. So it was kinda weird seeing Jamie. We didn't say
hello to each other, so it was really awkward.
A few weeks go by, and Lacey is busy on Friday. I'm
devastated we were going to miss a week of dancing with
DeAnna Lee. Just then I got a message from Jamie asking
if I was going dancing that night! I immediately let her know
that I would go if she wanted to go!
That night we made a fresh start of our friendship! From
there the past was the past, and me, Jamie, and Lacey became
the 3 Muskateers dancing every week! We would practice
new dances in our free time going to different country bars
to learn. We were soaking up everything we could about
dance! We were all hooked!
Dancing has pulled me through the hard times! I was at a low
point in my life before dance snatched me up and has now
taken me to incredible places.
Dance became my drug you can say. The tattoo that my 2 best
friends and I have says "Let us Dance" inside the infinity
symbol.
Dancing brought us together again, and no matter where life
takes us or who we grow up to be or where we end up in the
world, I never will forget these past 2 years of my life with
these girls. No matter if we live next door, the next room, or
countries apart dancing will always will make me think about
these girls and remind me of my passion for it. TO INFINITY
AND BEYOND!!
That's our sweet Be'Tina! Reading that brought a tear to my
eye. Dance is THAT powerful! It can bridge any gap, mend
wounds, and make you feel on top of the world! I'm so glad
dance has done this for you Be'Tina! We love our Boot Boogie

ended up loosing touch with both of them, and I went down
my own path of becoming an adult.
One Friday Lacey contacts me and says I wan't to take you to a
country bar. I was NOT into country music!
BUT, I went and had a blast!
Learning new line dances and trying to get out there every
chance I could was so much fun, and so this became a regular
Friday thing with me and Lacey. It truly helped reconnect our
childhood friendship.
One Friday I saw Jamie there too! We had not talked in a
while, and I'm not even sure if were were "friendly" at the
time. So it was kinda weird seeing Jamie. We didn't say
hello to each other, so it was really awkward.
A few weeks go by, and Lacey is busy on Friday. I'm
devastated we were going to miss a week of dancing with
DeAnna Lee. Just then I got a message from Jamie asking
if I was going dancing that night! I immediately let her know
that I would go if she wanted to go!
That night we made a fresh start of our friendship! From
there the past was the past, and me, Jamie, and Lacey became
the 3 Muskateers dancing every week! We would practice
new dances in our free time going to different country bars
to learn. We were soaking up everything we could about
dance! We were all hooked!
Dancing has pulled me through the hard times! I was at a low
point in my life before dance snatched me up and has now
taken me to incredible places.
Dance became my drug you can say. The tattoo that my 2 best
friends and I have says "Let us Dance" inside the infinity
symbol.
Dancing brought us together again, and no matter where life
takes us or who we grow up to be or where we end up in the
world, I never will forget these past 2 years of my life with
these girls. No matter if we live next door, the next room, or
countries apart dancing will always will make me think about
these girls and remind me of my passion for it. TO INFINITY
AND BEYOND!!
That's our sweet Be'Tina! Reading that brought a tear to my
eye. Dance is THAT powerful! It can bridge any gap, mend
wounds, and make you feel on top of the world! I'm so glad
