Tzatziki Tuna Burger

I had all the ingredients to make tuna burgers, BUT I realized half way through I didn't have an egg!  What to do??

I did some research on the ol' googles and found out that if you substitute anything with high protein it will act like an egg, because it is the proteins in the egg that makes things cling together.

Ok so that's my paraphrasing the heck out of some super fancy scientific stuffs, but I promise THIS WORKS!

I used Greek yogurt!

I had already made a batch of Tzatziki to dunk some apples and grilled chicken in earlier in the day.  So I pulled it out of the fridge, and I'm telling you the protein substitute totally works!  Vegans are probably laughing at me right now, but I'm no Vegan.  I don't eat any kind of meat substitute.  But trust me this flippin' works!

Let me show you what I did!

Tzatziki Tuna Burger

1 lb fresh tuna steaks
3 fresh garlic cloves minced
1/2 minced onion
1 tbsp. Greek seasoning
1 juiced and zested lemon
2 tbsp. fresh mint and parsley
1/3 cup panko bread crumbs
1/4 cup Tzatziki (egg substitute)

Tzatziki recipe:

1 cup Greek yogurt
1/2 onion
1 lemon juiced
1 tbsp. fresh dill
1/2 cucumber pealed and diced

Finely chop tuna steaks.  Add all ingredients to bowl.  Mix and shape into burgers.  Refrigerate 30 minutes.

In a large pan heat 2 tbsp. olive oil and a little unsalted butter on medium.  Add tuna burgers and saute on each side 3 to 4 minutes until done.

Top tuna burgers with tzatziki sauce and serve with your favorite side.
