DeAnna Lee is a dirt road girl from Arkansas and a country radio personality that lives in Seattle. You can hear her on Seattle's KMPS and Idaho Falls KUPI. She loves cowboy boots, country music, line dancing, and cooking adventures. DeAnna is also the coach and choreographer of Seattle's Line Dance Team, the Boot Boogie Babes and the proud owner of the cutest lil' French Bulldog ever...Miss Dixie Bell.

I hope y'all got to see the story Kristen Drew did on them and at the end, they interviewed me about the country music scene here. Great job Kristen, and way to go Aces Up!
First of all, I wanted to thank you for all of your love and support. When you are a radio personality, you sit in a room all day by yourself doing the best job you can do, but still wondering if anyone is actually listening. At least that's what goes through my mind. HA! But I have found that there were a lot of people that were paying attention. I assume it's because you were day dreaming right along with me about how it would be if we were married to Luke Bryan, or for the men Carrie Underwood. Right? I can STILL day dream about Luke, AND my big surprise is that I am STILL going to be teaching line dancing at Bourbon Jacks!!!
Friday, November 15th from 8 - 11 pm I will be hosting Boots Up Friday at Bourbon Jacks! I will teach you a Hot Country line dance at 10 pm, and we will give away a gift card to Boot Girl Warehouse in Fremont at 11 pm. We're gonna have a Tight Fittin' Jeans contest! The country music capitol of the world is gonna' be swingin' with our favorite stars live from Nashville all night long for the CMA's! If you love country music, you gotta be watchin' this show tomorrow night! The CMA's will air live on KOMO 4 starting at 8 pm. Then at 11 pm just after the CMA's, KOMO's Kristen Drew is airing a story on Aces Up. She also came to visit me while I was on the air to ask me about the country music scene in Seattle. Kristen Drew is a reporter for KOMO 4, and I met her when she came to take line dance lessons from me at Bourbon Jacks over a year ago. Kristen is originally from upstate New York, and this girl luuuuurves her some country music y'all! She was even wearing her cowboy boots the day she came to interview me while I was on the air last week!
She's a really sweet gal, so if you see her at country music concerts make sure and say hello! And definitely be watching for her on KOMO 4 News at night. She covers all sorts of local news, and she felt like she hit the jackpot when she got to do this story on the local country music scene in Seattle. Hey Y'all, I wanted to find a place where I could share some of my feelings, and if you are interested you can learn a little more about what I've been going through recently. The last couple of days I have been through a whirlwind of emotions. Relying on my faith alone, I have completely surrendered and turned it all over. Right before I walked into the big boss's office where I was told Friday was my last day, I asked God to go before me and help me. But let me back up a bit. My stomach had been in knots for weeks, because I had been asking about my contract renewal for over two months. I was told to be patient and when it was time, the plans would be shared with me. Well it was time, and I was a wreck all day! As I walked past the threshold of the door where I would be terminated, the calmest calm I've ever known came over me. As they told me the news, I almost smiled as I said "ok". I told the big boss, "I have learned some valuable lessons working here, and some of them have been from you". I've never seen this man be taken aback by anyone's comments, but in this moment he was quite speechless. I gotta be honest! I don't know where those words came from because it was as if something was speaking through me. I got up, stuck out my hand and said, "thank you for the opportunity", and I shook his hand. As I left his office, I was laughing at myself on the inside because it almost felt like I was one of those contestants on The Voice thanking everyone for the opportunity to be there. It made me giggle. Yes, I was giggling after being told I had just performed my last show for that company. I say all of this to you, because there was a power much greater than me at work in that office on Friday. I'm strong, but I'm not THAT strong. After my stomach being in knots all day and feeling like I was on a sea of wild emotions worrying about this "meeting" and after asking God to go before me and help me, I was wrapped in the warmest embrace. Every nerve was eased and every fear calmed. The next thing I had to do was share this news with my fiance. He has never been through a "restructuring" in radio, so he was completely shell shocked at first. But he stayed calm throughout all of it. My FBP (Favorite Bass Player -that's his nickname) is my rock, and it takes a lot to rattle him. I love the way he loves me! I keep thinking that somewhere, sometime I musta' done somethin' good to deserve that kind of love. It's a true comfort in times like these. I wanted to personally thank you for reaching out to me on Facebook and Twitter. All of your messages, well wishes, and thoughts have made me realize that all of my hard work was not in vein. You really do mean the world to me! I'm just a good ol' southern girl who was raised in the woods and has a deep down to the hillbilly bone love for country music. I always feel a kindred spirit with anyone who loves country music, and y'all have made a huge impression on me. You've taken over a huge part of my heart! I'm still in Seattle, and if you are interested I'm going to continue to blog. I've got a couple of surprises for you! Plus, I want to continue to share my recipes, thoughts, and whatever else is going on in my Boots Up world. I hope you will stick around until I land on my boots!
